Prof. Ernst Fehr
He is also Vice-Chairman of the Department of Economics and Global Distinguished Professor at New York University. Until 2011 he was an affiliated faculty member at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is a former president of the Economic Science Association and of the European Economic Association, honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, John Kenneth Galbraith Fellow of the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences, a member of Leopoldina, the German National Academy of Sciences, and a fellow of the Econometric Society. He has received numerous prizes, including the Marcel Benoist Prize in 2008 and the Gottlieb Duttweiler Prize in 2013.
His research interests include social and biological foundations of human motivation, the effects of social and economic incentives on human behavior, and the optimal design of contracts and institutions.
